Coast Guard medevacs 1 near Manasquan, N.J.

MANASQUAN, N.J. - The Coast Guard medevaced a 52-year-old man from aboard a dive boat 10 miles off the coast of Manasquan Saturday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 9:30 a.m. from a crewmember aboard the Eagle's Nest, homeported in Jones Beach, N.Y., reporting a passenger was coughing up blood.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, N.J., arrived on scene and transferred the man to their boat.

The man was transported to Coast Guard Station Shark River, N.J., where he was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel and transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, N.J., for treatment.
